The Wilhelm Tell open-air plays are an integral part of the summer programme in Interlaken. On the magnificent natural stage in the Rugenwald zu Matten more than 130 amateur actors help to turn the open-air theatre into an impressive experience. From 1912 to 2015 Friedrich Schiller’s drama “Wilhelm Tell” was performed on the magnificent natural stage in the “Rugenwald zu Matten”.

In addition to the many actors and statists, horses, cows, donkeys and goats belong to the great Tell family. This makes the theatre an impressive experience. Thanks to the 2000 covered seats, the games can take place in any weather.
